A Grand and Private Estate
The historic main house and carriage house were built in the 1840s in the Greek revival style. In early 2000 the property was renovated and expanded. It has been painstakingly restored to provide elegance at every turn. Hedgebound is a blend of Old Cape Cod charm with luxurious and modern amenities. It offers over 8000 square foot of living space, which includes 8 bedrooms / sleeping areas, 4 full baths, 2 half baths and spacious outdoor shower. The property comfortably sleeps up to 16 overnight guests.
Below are details and descriptions for the living spaces and bedrooms along with downloadable room plans.
Living room
Upon entering the front door you are greeted with a warm spacious living room. Ample seating, fireplace and piano bring comfort and warmth to this room.
Dining room
Located between the living room and main kitchen, the main dining room provides great flow and open concept living. A sea grass grass rug overlays the hand painted pine floors. Flanked on either side with windows, the dining room offers a bright and elegant dining area.
Main kitchen
A cook's dream, this kitchen offers a sub zero refrigerator, 6 burner Viking dual fuel range, 2 dishwashers, prep sink with foot pedal control and main sink. It has a 10 foot island with hand crafted cabinets and black soapstone counter tops with plenty of storage space.
Around the corner is a beautiful walk-in pantry for additional storage and a full size refrigerator with freezer.
Family room
The open concept and great flow of this home shows itself everywhere, and the family room is no exception. A gas fireplace sets instant ambiance for conversation, reading or entertainment.
Three season porch
Off the main kitchen and family room you will find French doors which open to a wonderful three season porch, which overlooks the gardens. During the warm weather this porch is screened; as the weather changes, screens are replaced with plexiglass, so this beautiful spot can be enjoyed Spring, Summer and Fall. It's the perfect spot for morning coffee and a good book.
Game room/historic dining room
Off the living room is the original dining room for the home. Today, this elegant and stylish room is used for board games, puzzles and an extra dining area.
Lower level media and game room
The lower level of the main house is home to the media and game room. Complete with a foozball table, air hockey table, flat screen TV and comfortable seating, this area will be a favorite for all the kids (and adults).
