Beaches and Natural Beauty

The Town of Truro boasts eleven beautiful town beaches.


Larger public parking facilities are available at Head of the Meadow beach on the ocean side and Corn Hill beach on the bayside  These two beaches are equipped with ample parking (160+ spots) for vehicles with Truro Beach Stickers or Daily Hang Tags.  

Daily Hang Tags may be purchased for $15/day by the general public. Hang Tags are available from the attendant on duty and are only valid at Corn Hill Beach and Head of the Meadow Beach.

Truro Beach stickers are available at the Truro Beach Office located at 36 Shore Rd., North Truro (Rt 6A).

Biking on the Cape

Bring your bikes and ride the Cape Cod rail trail or Race Point in Provincetown.  

The Cape has miles of trails for on-road biking.

Whale Watching

Fin and humpbacks are regularly seen from April to October, and scientists have discovered that Cape Cod Bay is an important breeding ground for the extremely rare North Atlantic right whale.  Summer is a great time to whale watch, too!

All whale watching boats leave Provincetown from MacMillan and Fisherman’s Wharf in the town center.   Arrive early to ensure a parking space.

Provincetown Village - shopping and galleries

Provincetown, Massachusetts was transformed from a rough-and-tumble whaling and fishing village into an anything-goes destination for free-loving artists and tourists.  

Take a walk from the West End to the East End of Commercial Street with both large and small shops to browse.

Hiking Trails

No matter what time of year you visit Cape Cod you can enjoy beautiful scenery and changing landscapes.   


From the Provinceland Trails at the tip of Provincetown to the Cape Cod Wildlife Sanctuary MA Audubon Society in Wellfleet to the Atlantic White Cedar Swamp, Wellfleet, there are so many to choose!  Make sure you pack a snack and bring water and leave only footprints!

Historical Places of Interest

The Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum.

The Pilgrim Monument is the first thing you see when you approach Provincetown.   You are able to climb to the top and enjoy an amazing 360 degree views.

The Provincetown Museum, at the base of the Pilgrim Monument, features a unique collection of exhibits that depict important events and people in Provincetown history and our nation’s history.

Beach Bonfires

Beach Bonfires are allowed on the Truro Beaches with proper permit.   
Permits can be obtained at the Truro Beach Office located at 36 Shore Rd., North Truro (Rt 6A).


Firewood can be purchased just 2 miles down the road from Hedgebound on Route 6 heading to the Wellfleet border. or in Provincetown at the Stop and Shop.
